4v4 and 6v6 rules follow indoor 4v4 and 6v6 rules, respectively, with the following modifications:
6v6 TEAMS
Open 6s - Each team must consist of a minimum of 6 players and a maximum of 12 players, 18 years of age or older. There are no gender requirements on the court. A team may play with a minimum of 4 players. If they have less than 4 players, the game will be forfeited. There is no ghost rule. There are no gender based hit rules.
Co-ed 6s – Each team must consist of a minimum of 6 players and a maximum of 12 players, 18 years of age or older. 6 players, 3 males and 3 females must compete on each side. There is a maximum of 3 males on either side at any given time. A team may play with a minimum of 4 players, but must play a minimum of two females. If a team has fewer than these minimums, the game will be forfeited. There is no “Ghost Rule”
4v4 TEAMS
Men's & Women's 4s - Each team must consist of a minimum of 4 players and a maximum of 8 players, 18 years of age or older. A team may play with a minimum of 3 players to avoid a forfeit. There is no ghost rule.
Co-ed 4s – Each team must consist of a minimum of 4 players and a maximum of 8 players, 18 years of age or older. 4 players, 2 males and 2 females must compete on each side. There is a maximum of 2 males on either side at any given time. A team may play with a minimum of 3 players, but must play a minimum of 1 female. If a team has fewer than these minimums, the game will be forfeited. There is no “Ghost Rule”.
START OF GAME
- Rock, Paper, Scissors, will be played between the two captains to determine serve or side (best 2 out of 3 shoots). The losing captain will receive the remaining option.
GAME LENGTH
Each match will last approximately 45 minutes, depending on court availability.
- Teams will play 3 sets, all 3 sets count towards standings. Each set will be played to 21 points.
- Teams must have a 2 points advantage to win, with a cap of 25 points (teams may win by a 1 point advantage when 25 points is achieved).
- Teams will switch sides at 11 points during the 3rd game.
- The team that is in the lead when the game time expires will be the winner of that set.
Richmond Location Modifications
- There are no gender requirements for players on the court. However if the ball is hit more than once on your side of the court, one of the touches must come from a female player.
- Game length is 60 minutes with 3 sets to 25, cap at 30 points, as long as time permits.
