We take a zero tolerance approach verbal abuse. The Zero Tolerance Policy allows a referee to remove a player from a match without penalizing the entire team.
The League endorses a zero tolerance approach to foul, abusive, or degrading language. Foul and abusive language includes, but is not limited to, profanity, racial/gender/religious/ethnic slurs or degrading comments, and harassing or demeaning words, phrases, or gestures.
The referees are now empowered to eject a player without punishing the entire team by having them play short. If a referee ejects a players due to foul, abusive, or degrading language, the team can substitute in another player to replace the ejected player, thus not penalizing the entire team. The team is expected to support the referee and work together to remove the problem player so the game may continue.
